Eyes Wide Shut

Baby birds with their wide mouths open
insisting, me…me…me, I want more.
Eyes wide shut, blindly consuming.
Is this my generation? Is it yours?

  1. I like the metaphor you've got going on here!

    And that picture is exquisite!

  2. The mamma bird just keeps getting bigger and tries to make the babies dependant on her. I think there might be one or two self reliant ones in there though. ;-)

    Cute picture by the way.

  3. Wow what a fantastic shot, what kind of chicks are they? I got a shot like that once of chicks in a Bluebird nest, though not even half as nice as yours. Very nice.

  8. Thank you everyone for your nice comments. The baby birds are Phoebees and the mother was very patient with me as I took photos. There were on a low limb hanging over the shore the lake at Cacapon State Park, WV. I was sure to thank her as I left.
