  5. Thank you all for your nice comments. I don't know what the plant it but my nature nerd friend pointed out that it is a fibonacci pattern. The desert has so many interesting and different plants.

  7. Echinocactus grusonii is called mother-in-law's armchair in German - sorry, was my first thought, ;-).
    The photo is very nice in b/w, emphasises the details.
