Climate Change

Photo taken in Tucker County May 23, 2007.
Each tower at the Mountaineer Energy Center site in Tucker County produces 1.5 megawatts of electricity.

Climate Change is one of the biggest issues facing our world today. I don’t have children and my brother doesn’t have children so why should I care? It probably won’t make a difference to my life. I will probably be dead before disaster strikes. But I do care. I care about everyone else, the baby across the street and even the bratty school kids I see as I leave work. I care about all those insects and plants that I write about. I care about all the beautiful streams and mountains that make my life joyous. I do care and I hope as you read my blog you will begin to see how wonderful this earth is and start caring even more. It is real and maybe I won’t see the horribleness’ of it but some one will. Please join me in caring.

It takes more than windmills to make a change I think - but your photo is a good one :)

Not only do I care, but I'm terrified of what we've done. I can't even watch programs on climate change anymore, I'm so afraid for my child that I lose sleep over it. I wish more people would care, thanks for getting the word out there, the more voices the better :)

Yes, I care and I'm so sad to see what we've done to our world and how few people even seem to give a damn, with the attitude that "hey, I won't be around by then anyway!" I do have four grown children, but no grandchildren -- I still care! Thanks for saying it like it is.

Thank you for a great post!

It's not going to be a one spectacular catastrophe. It's the changes that seem so little but have the world turning effect and it's already happening.

Cool. I got some great shots of windmills last year on a trip out west.

They make a striking picture, very dramatic. And, yes, it takes more than this to make a change, but we have to start somewhere or we'll never get anywhere.
