Sometimes the best scenic site is your own home.

Photo taken just a few minutes ago.
When I moved to my home in West Virginia my mother sent me a quote in a nice little frame that she had cut out of a magazine that I keep in my kitchen. It says, "Nothing equals the feeling I get when I pull in the driveway and know this beautiful place is mine!" That still holds true for me today. I chose to live far from work and commute by train each day because when I come home at night and wake up on the weekends I am exactly where I want to be. Last night I found a stick bug on my window and that wouldn't have happened in DC. So for me I made the right choice and that is what it is all about isn't it.

What a lovely home and property. Great photo. My hubby and I did the same thing we moved out to a rural area with a watershed and reservoir. We are happy to commute to work and are very happy when its time to come home.

Lovely lovely photo! Love that burning bush, it's so pretty! It's like autumn meets Christmas -so cute!

You have a lovely location. I used to ride the train daily from Frederick into DC, but without such a nice place to come home to, so eventually I moved in closer. But I do know what your willingness to do that says about how you love this spot.

I too live far from work (or did until I quit to stay home with my child a few weeks ago. also made for a long train ride or even longer car ride but coming home and feeling like I was on vacation while I walk on the beach or along the river is worth it! Totally agree! And a very beautiful spot.
