Oh I love this, I took a similar shot yesterday and was debating whether ti monochrome it or leave it as 'is'...
This is wonderful in b/w, the pattern and textures are great! I almost can feel it.
I've always found the bark of trees fascinating ... but most just wonder about me when I take a picture of 'just' a tree trunk. Thanks, so much, for sharing your photo.
The bark looks like a series of little squirrels. Nice shot.
