Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon

Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon were also places I had been to before but again it was birding that drew me back.  I had actually forgotten how beautiful Sedona could be and marveled at the hills as I drove through on my way up the canyon.

Oak Creek was a place my friends enjoyed as we went sliding down the rocks in the creek.  I was much younger then and now I was just as thrilled to spot my first  Grace’s, Virginia’s and Lucy’s Warblers.  Seriously those are the names. I called them the three sisters of Oak Creek Canyon. But,  I must say that the Painted Redstart was the most exciting to see and it might be the only place I have such an opportunity.

On the way back to the campground I stopped to take a photo of this beautiful pink topped grass that lined the roadway.

Love Sedona. Love the pink topped grass. Again, I should have been there.
