New perspective

Some of you may be aware that the USA mid-atlantic coast received record snow this weekend. I have 31 inches of snow at my home in West Virginia. Yesterday while shoveling the fluffy white stuff I stopped and took a moment to take this photo of the chain link fence around the yard. Seeing snow on the fence like this is normal but to have a solid wall of snow in the background is what makes this photo different.

Here is a B&W photo of the steps that I took the day before. A little cropping really changes the perspective and you almost wonder what it is. You can see the uncropped version in the previous blog.

Be sure to see more Monochrome Weekly photos. They are really interestinng.

  3. Sunny thank you. And you be careful in the snow you will be getting on Wed. My snow is so deep I can't even fall down but a lesser snow can be pretty slippery.

Ellen, eat your heart out! LOL :-)Seriously I think it is way too deep to track in but maybe this weekend might be a good time to get out.

  5. Gaelyn, I'm beginning to feel like you said about not missing the snow. I think I have had enough for the year. I am running out of bird seed because the squirrels are out and about now and they are consuming it at a rapid rate. Their store of acorns in the ground is really in the deep freezer right now. The deer are slogging through and eating my pine needles. Ouch.

  6. Oh how I love snow - when it is freshly fallen.
Such a peaceful moment in time wandering thru the piles of millions of snowflakes. it is so very hard to believe that no two are the same!
